All Accutron watches are made with solid stainless steel cases for durability and elegance, and they include the most advanced Swiss quartz movements or Swiss automatic movements Accutron Eagle Flight Chronograph developed to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of manned flight and the 35th Anniversary of Buzz Aldrin's Apollo 11 Flight to the moon. The Eagle Flight Chronograph is rugged, beautiful and extremely functional. When accuracy and durability are essential, the Eagle Pilot's Watch delivers the pinpoint precision and superior reliability necessary to meet the most exacting timekeeping challenges. Accutron's superbly engineered Swiss-made chronograph combines strength, style and split second accuracy. The Accutron Eagle incorporates the very unique dual hand "flyback" chronograph which will allow for unlimited incremental readings within each chronograph interval. The close-up on the right shows the dual timing hands of the chronograph, one red and one black. This feature utilizes a third push button, located near the 10 o'clock position, to activate the split timing feature. This extraordinary feature is rarely found, even on chronographs costing much, much more. Accutron created the Eagle Chronograph to pay tribute to the daring pilot who took flight to a new dimension at the controls of the original Eagle, the lunar module on Apollo 11, during the first moon landing - Buzz Aldrin. As a tribute to Dr. Aldrin, the caseback of every Eagle Pilot's Watch commemorates this stunning achievement by including Buzz Aldrin's signature as shown on the left. The watches are entirely Swiss Made and have the very finest, most accurate Swiss movements. The chronographs (stopwatch) time to 1/10 of a second and a have a 30 minute subdial. A date window is also included. Accutron by Bulova revolutionized the entire world of watchmaking with the introduction of the tuning fork oscillator watch that was guaranteed accurate to within 2 seconds a day, or 1 minute a month. In 1962 The Accutron 214 became the first wristwatch certified for use by railroad personnel and by 1967 only Accutron clocks were used aboard Air Force One. NASA asked Bulova to incorporate Accutron technology into its space program equipment, and so it was used in panel clocks and instrument timers. In fact, an Accutron watch movement sits on the moon's Sea of Tranquility today, placed there in 1969 by the Apollo 11 astronauts. He has also been a noted Professor of Architectonic Design, Project Manager and specialist in architecture and design for international hotels. Since 1969, he has been involved with, and in many cases has directed Architectural Conferences, and has instigated various projects for the investigation of the applications of design and architecture. He has received many national and international awards for his architecture and design, and has been published in many international publications. He has also designed and directed numerous constructions of both public buildings and private homes throughout South America. He has designed hotel projects for Sheraton, Marriott, and Hilton throughout Argentina. He established his own design office in 1955. Panton is credited with the design of the very first single-form injection- moulded plastic chair: the Stacking Chair, designed in 1960.
