The Groove Tubes SAG-AT7-MPI Matched Phase Inverter Retube Kit contains specially selected and matched 12AT7 vacuum tubes for critical audio or guitar/bass amplifier use. Intended when a match of the two sides of the triode are desired for phase inverter or driver use.This 12AT7 tube is a dual triode where the A and B sides are closely matched for use in critical high end audio applications or for use in the phase inverter or driver position of musical instrument amplifiers.The benefit of this Groove Tubes vacuum tube in a guitar or bass amplifier is a matched output section. At lower frequencies such as dropped tunings, 7 string guitars, or bass guitars, the upper and lower portions of the output waveform will be much more equal. When this waveform is not equal, differences are cancelled out in the NFB loop of class A/B amplifiers and are noticed as a lack of sustain or apparent "dead spots" in areas of the fret board.At high levels at all frequencies, sustain will be improved. This is even more critical in Class A amplifiers such as the Vox AC-30 and Matchless amplifiers.Use this MPI in any application where a phase inverter / driver of the ECC81/12AT7 tube is specified. The phase inverter / driver position of a guitar or bass amp is a current driving position, and not part of the tone generation stage. These tubes are selected for specific characteristics, so they may be a 12AT7A, 12AT7C, or other 12AT7 tubes.Use of a 12AT7 in place of a 12AX7 will yield more clean headroom in your output section. The Groove Tubes SAG-FHG Fender High Gain Kit kit includes 2 high gain preamp tubes and one matched 12AT7 phase inverter. All SAG kits are selected on a limited basis. The 2 selected high gain ECC83S tubes are optimized for the preamp stage of Fender amplifiers of all eras which use a 12AX7/7025 first gain stage. Special Applications Group (SAG) provides further testing and grading for certain performance characteristics and these vacuum tubes are specially selected from premium Groove Tubes preamp tubes which have been tested to meet the GT standard.This 3-tube set is optimized for Fender amps which use 12AX7 or 7025 tubes in V1 and V2. SAG-FHG includes two high gain preamp tubes to be used in the V1 and V2 positions, and one MPI (matched phase inverter) 12AT7 tube for the V6 position (in the case of blackface amps. The V1 and V2 tubes will increase the front end gain structure of the amplifier as much as 20% over typical stock tubes. Special Applications Group (SAG) provides further testing and grading of vacuum tubes for certain performance characteristics.This 3-tube set is optimized for your Marshall, Bogner, Rivera, Mesa or British type amps which use (or will benefit from) the ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tubes. SAG-MHG includes two high output preamp tubes to be used in the V1 and V2 positions, and one MPI (matched phase inverter) tube for the V3 position. The matched phase inverter may be a 12AX7 or an ECC83, as it will be matched for its response curves with the other two tubes. The phase inverter is not part of the tine generation stage, it is a current driver.The V1 and V2 tubes will increase the front end output structure of amplifiers from about 10% to as much as 25% or more over typical stock tubes.The V3, matched phase inverter tube will assure a balanced output section when used with matched power tubes (highly recommended) which will assure sustain across the entire range of your instrument.The MPI (Matched Phase Inverter) is a SAG selected 12AX7 or ECC83, as this tube is not part of the tone generation stage, but part of the output section and is chosen for its current drive and rise time characteristics.Use this MPI in any application where a phase inverter / driver of the ECC83/12AX7/7025 tube is specified. This tube cannot be specified as to type in the kit.These kits also work particularly well in Fender Blackface and Silverface amps where the increased gain and current out of the first gain stage combined with a switch from the 12AT7 in the phase inverter to a 12AX7 will yield a much more aggressive tone. These amps which are normally considered to be on the "clean" side will become more aggressive with this kit.

The SFX Spacestation amp is a single compact powered monitor that creates a 300-degree field of stereo sound using a 100-watt per channel Class D power amp and dipole speaker array. The SFX "acoustical space vortex" created by the dipole speaker is the secret to the stereo magic, electronically encoding left and right signals, and then acoustically decoding them in the unique Front & Side powered speaker systems. The Groove Tubes Silver Series ST-12AX7-C Preamp Tube is for those who change first stage gain preamp tubes to change the taste and character of their amps. A Chinese version of the 12AX7-C. Great for Marshall and Fender preamps. Sweet warm mid-range tone that complements the tone of European amplifiers. This Groove Tube takes some of the edge off of high gain amps by reducing the brightness while still having the gain and articulation. This is one tube that should be in your basic toolbox.
